Paris has been topping my European bucket list for the longest time. As soon as I received my British passport, I booked a day trip to Paris.
2017 started off with an adventure and it doesn’t seem to be stopping. I never would have guessed that my dream of visiting Paris would come true. This year has truly been magical and I am so grateful for everything that has happened. What are you most grateful for this year?
Patience does pay off and hard work does bear fruit.
I was travelling with my friend and this being a day trip, we booked the 5:40 Eurostar to Paris Gare du Nord. Paris greeted us with rape seed fields, graffiti walls and cold weather.
My first trip to Paris was nothing less than an adventure. From getting lost for 3 hours (we had reached our destination but due to language barrier thought we had to get another train and that took us away from the main city) to getting soaked in rain, including my camera. But, even after losing valuable time, we still managed to fit in a lot of places.
When the curiosity to see a new place ended up into a day trip adventure to ‘Dover Castle’.
The journey from London St Pancras to Dover Priority Station took about 1 hour 35 minutes and costs us £79.80 (2x return tickets on javelin at any time). Once at the Station, the steep walk to Dover Castle is about 15-20 minutes. There’s also a bus service available but we decided to walk to the castle.
We were clueless how huge this castle was and that, we were gonna end up spending the whole day here. My impromptu adventure to Dover Castle meant I wasn’t prepared for this trip and there’s few things I discovered the hard way.
Things have been difficult lately with plans either getting cancelled or failing miserably.
Not being able to attend The Photography Show has been one of the many disappointments. An event where all the leading photography brands gather to showcase their camera/equipments. All these has left me feeling angry and disappointed.
I’ve been feeling useless almost everyday for the last 2 months and these 4 tips have helped me stay positive where my plans have gone down the drain.
I believe everything happens for a reason. i guess there’s always a good a good reason why things don’t work the way we want them to.
“good things fall apart to make way for the better”.
What do you do when your plans fail? Do you have any tips to share with me? I could do with some more.
