My favourite 'Things To Do In Richmond' - Fronam's Diary

Richmond giving a taste of country and city life

Don’t give up on your dreams, or else your dreams will give up on you.

I’ve been meaning to visit Richmond Park for the longest time and it’s always ended up being one of those things that I’ve left for tomorrow and that tomorrow never came. Richmond is an hour away from where I live so I can’t even blame it on the distance.

Well, that’s changed now. II’ve been here 3 times in the space of one week.

You can take the girl out of the country (in my case village) but you can’t take the country out of the girl.

Richmond is a perfect blend of both the worlds. Since moving to London, I’ve been so immersed in city life that whenever I find glimpses of village life, the village kid in me jumps out of excitement.

Richmond is buzzing with so many activities. I feel there’s something for everyone here. One whole day is not enough to explore Richmond.

Richmond offering the best of both worlds

In today’s post I’m sharing my current favourite spots in Richmond.

Horses of Richmond

If you are a village or a country girl, you will definitely love this place. The field is full of s***  and I mean it lol. You’ve got cattle grazing in the meadow and s******* at the same time. They are very good at multi tasking lol.

Herd of Cattle Grazing at Petersham Meadows in Richmond

I was born in Mumbai and brought up in a tiny village in the coastal state of GoaThe smell of cow dung brought back memories of childhood. In villages from where I come from, there are some who cannot afford brick houses and hence uses cow dung. Yup, we do have s*** houses in India.

It may sound gross and abnormal to some but for me it’s normal.

Chasing butterflies in Richmond

Sneakily taking pictures of cows from a distance to chatting to horses (imagine that lol). From chasing butterflies to running after robin (just to get a picture)…I ended up spending an hour just enjoying these simple moments. And It’s little things like these that makes life beautiful.

Isn’t it funny, how day by day nothing changes but when you look back everything is different. – C.S.Lewis

Rose Garden

Reliving childhood memories

Walking barefoot and taking in the aroma has to be the highlight for me. I was in my element there. Richmond brought out the little kid in me.

Surrounded by colourful roses and magical sunset views, what more could I ask for?

Enjoying a quiet little moment amongst the company of the flowers

Trip to Richmond is not complete without paying a visit to Petersham Nursery. If you enjoy sipping tea amongst the company of flowers, then this place is for you.

Sunset Views from King Henry’s Mound

Sunset watching from King Henry's mound

Ending the list with my one of my favourite thing to do, watching the sun go down. Being a sunset lover, watching the sunset from the highest part of Richmond Hill was breathtaking. If you look closely, you can view St. Paul’s Cathedral from King Henry’s Mound.

These were my favourite places in Richmond but what about you? Do you know of any hidden gems in Richmond or any secret places that you like to chill? There’s still a lot more to explore and if you guys have any recommendations please let me know in the comments below.

  • Beaconsfield is a beautiful town with spectacular houses full of character and architectural perfection 🏘
But what caught my eye were the gardens. It's like every house has a forest 🌲🌳🐿 as their front/back garden and it's all maintained and taken very good care of 💖
I love exploring new places on foot and by getting lost 🚶🏻‍♀️which means I need to take breaks either to fuel up 🥘🌯which happens 99% of time or to just take in some fresh air 💕
  • Exploring new #cornersofmyworld is my favourite thing to do especially when it's this beautiful 😍

  • Everytime I have holidays booked and wanna go exploring, I come down with a flu 🤧

Don't think the universe is on my side ☹️
But sometimes I refuse to give in and there are times where my body refuse to co-operate 😨

It's a tough world we live in, I tell you 😂🤣 So for now I'm in snuggled in my duvet all comfy watching the storm go crazy outside destroying my flower pots 🍂🥀🍃
  • The cold winds are creeping in just like @richmond_council does every now and then on my feed ☺️
See if you can spot the dog hiding behind the flowers 🐶
