This year has been full of life changing moments. If you follow me on Instagram you’ll know that I’ve recently returned from a family vacation (we go to Goa every year. That’s where my dad side of the family is from).
This trip was definitely much more relaxing and enjoying compared to rest we’ve had so far.
It also made me reflect on how I’ve been living my life and showing me that there’s so much room for improvement if only I was willing to put in a little bit of effort.
Here’s some of the things I’ve been working on and you can too. I’m taking baby steps because that’s how you start right?
Discover a Hobby
I’ve somehow developed an interest in gardening and I absolutely love it. After seeing my cousin’s garden blooming with colourful roses and variety of fruits and vegetables, I thought of giving it a try too and I’m loving it so far.
The best thing is my parents and brothers are also enjoying it which is such a bonus. We hardly get to spend time with each other and this is a great bonding opportunity.
I’ve also started knitting and working on a scarf right now (if you follow me on social media
, you must have seen it).
It’s not perfect but I love it. Simple pleasure of life huh? what’s your favourite hobby
Feeling less guilty
Don’t know what it is with me but whenever I take a break I feel guilty. As if I’m not entitled to one or it’s like against the law to take a break. Do you feel the same or is it just me?
The other day I was writing down the list of things that I had done and couldn’t believe how much was accomplished in one day. I was like wt* did I do all of this today? This is why writing helps.
I’m a human not a robot, so I’ve decided to feel less guilty when I do take a break.
We all work hard and we deserve one.
Make a to-do list
Making a list and sticking with it makes a huge difference. I’ve been starting with the most difficult, annoying, boring (basically the least favourite) tasks first and ending with the easy ones.
This way I don’t spend my whole day stressing about it and also I’m able to enjoy my day. Give it a try and let me know how it goes guys.
Concentrate on what you have
We are all guilty of this one right?. It’s a human nature where our wants take over our needs. It’s a cycle of life and we all fall for it.
I’m currently working on my wardrobe, putting together an outfit from pieces I haven’t worn before. This way I’ve got a new outfit, and save some money too.
Focus on my goal
With so much going on social media, it’s very easy to get carried away with other people’s dreams/goals. All this result in losing sight of my dreams and my purpose in life.
Whenever this happens, I find myself asking these questions; What is your purpose? What is it that you want from life? This helps me clear my mind and focus on the target, making it easier to work towards my goal.
When you get stuck, take a step back and ask yourself these questions;
what is your purpose? what is it that you want from life?
Tip: The best way to stay focussed is to make a mood board or write down your goals and keep it right in front of your eyes (I mean in a place where you cannot miss it lol)
