My First Time in Brighton

My First Time in Brighton - Fronam's Diary

2017 is proving to be (so far) a year of “first time” moments for me. I have been living in the UK for 15 years now but never been to Brighton (I hope i’m not the only one).

You may remember from my previous post that I was in Lewes for the LTA Summit and considering Brighton is just 30 minutes away, I decided this was the perfect opportunity to tick Brighton off the #bucketlist.
From visiting the famous Brighton Pier that everybody talks about to eating Fish and Chips to visiting the Royal Pavilion were some of the things I wanted to do. Do you think I managed to achieve this?

After saying our final goodbyes (which was so emotional) I and few others made our way to the YHA Hostel in Brighton. The trains were on strike so we decided to take the taxi (you can travel for as little as £4.50 by train and there’s bus option too).

We arrived around 12 and check in wasn’t until 2. However, the staff was kind enough to let us in early so we left our bags in the room and decided to go for a stroll.

We made our way back to the hostel because I was freezing, hungry and the soaked socks and shoes only made it worse. I changed into boots and made our way to Harry Ramsden’s Restaurant only because it was right opposite the hostel and I was HANGRY now. The food was good and the staff and service was brilliant.

I was running on 3-4 hours of sleep for the last couple of days due to LTA madness and I wanted to get some rest so we headed back to the Hostel and called it night.

Talking of sleep, I didn’t wake up until 9.30 the following morning and the check out time was 10 (yes you read it right). But as you can see that didn’t bother me at all.

There was no way I was gonna leave without eating breakfast. We extended the check out time to 12 (It costs us just £5 which isn’t bad at all because we paid only £39 for a private room with amazing views and a bathroom which had a posh tub overlooking the pier.

After taking lefts and rights for like 15 minutes, yelp got us to this cute little cafe called “Oseta“. This was the first time we used yelp after taking advice from the Vagabrothers and it was a hit so thank you brothers!

I don’t know how I managed to take these photos because was I was so hungry and when I’m hungry, my brain stops functioning (Incase you haven’t realised, I am hungry all the time lol).

The food was freaking delicious and the bread was divine (I could have easily had another round). The staff was friendly and the service was top notch. If you re ever in Brighton, check out ‘Oseta’ cafe. I must say; people in Brighton are very friendly and they do take very good care of their customers (thats the experience I’ve had so far)

We literally had 10 minutes to get back, grab our bags and check out. I got a glimpse of  Royal Pavilion from the outside as it was a race against time (we managed to do it but don’t as me how).

It was a very short trip and maybe I could have been a bit more organised but I did my best and do not regret waking up late at all 🙂

I went back to the pier for one last time before heading home. It was just 12 days into 2017 and I had tried so many things for the ‘first time’ and visiting Brighton was one of them.

This year my goal is to explore places that I haven’t seen or been to before. It’s all about discovering new places. This could be visiting another county/country or maybe taking a different route home/work that I haven’t tried before or going down an alleyway that I haven’t explored yet.

Here’s a challenge for you guys. Try and answer the following questions:-

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU DID SOMETHING NEW?

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU TRIED SOMETHING FOR THE FIRST TIME?

Don’t have an answer? Well, you have 1 week…. Get… Set… Explore!

  • Sweet ! Well to answer your question of “WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU DID SOMETHING NEW”, actually yesterday. I attended the Nice Carnival, an event I’d never seen before despite having lived here for over 12 years lol. It was utterly epic and amazing fun. I ended up making a video about it and it’ll be up on my YT channel on Wednesday Feb. 22 at 6pm UK if you’re interested Rona 😉

  • My reaction says it all 😻
I couldn't help but stare at my #dreamhouse 🏡💖 dreaming of spending chilly winters by the wooden fireplace 🔥baking pies and drinking tea ☕️ while gazing out of the window 💭
Hey a girl can dream right ?☺️💖✨

  • Beaconsfield is a beautiful town with spectacular houses full of character and architectural perfection 🏘
But what caught my eye were the gardens. It's like every house has a forest 🌲🌳🐿 as their front/back garden and it's all maintained and taken very good care of 💖
I love exploring new places on foot and by getting lost 🚶🏻‍♀️which means I need to take breaks either to fuel up 🥘🌯which happens 99% of time or to just take in some fresh air 💕
  • Exploring new #cornersofmyworld is my favourite thing to do especially when it's this beautiful 😍

But sometimes I refuse to give in and there are times where my body refuse to co-operate 😨

It's a tough world we live in, I tell you 😂🤣 So for now I'm in snuggled in my duvet all comfy watching the storm go crazy outside destroying my flower pots 🍂🥀🍃
